The amount of information available online for virtually any topic can be staggering, overwhelming even. A search engine like Google can return millions upon millions of results, but not all of them are useful or relevant to your question. This is particularly important to consider when it comes to health information--there is plenty available on the web, but you want to be sure that the facts are reliable. While no substitute for the advice of your doctor, there are great websites with trustworty, free health information and tips. Attend a Lunchtime Learning session at the Main Library next Wednesday, May 25 from 12-1 PM for an overview of websites and library databases you can use from home to find resources on medical conditions and treatments, medications, and general health knowledge.
